Böhm Stirling - Movement is everything

Elastique. created Böhm Stirling-Technik’s corporate design, a manufacturer of filigree Stirling engine models. The priority was to design the new website and produce various promotional videos for the Böhm brand, its products and its high-tech manufacturing processes.

A medium-sized German company meets design

The result was a courageous and unusual website with a passion for detail. With its clear, magazine-quality aesthetics, sharp product shots and slow-motion promotional videos, it visualises the precision of the products and manufacturing methods. It conveys the motto ‘Movement is everything’ where minimalist visual concepts meet aesthetic dynamics. The elegant website is charmingly punctuated by humorous design elements: they convey the charm of the pre-industrial, steam-operated motor models – essentially toys for adults.

Our role

The task was to redesign and implement the entire corporate design of the high-precision enterprise from the ground up. We also conceptualised and designed the websites ‘Böhm-Stirling’ and ‘Böhm-Präzision’ in addition to the corporate design. The visual theme of the existing online shop was to be adapted to the new design. As part of the production process, we were also in charge of conceptualising and creating a promotional video and an entertaining promotional clip.

The challenge

In developing the conceptual and design strategy, it was extremely important not to lose the emotional and playful aspects of the products in spite of the immensely high-quality, minimalist aesthetics. Even in high-tech productions created by using the latest machine technology, people and their ideas and creativity remain the key factor. This should be able to be seen and felt.

The solution

Everything at Böhm revolves around movement, from production to the finished product. The Mazak high-tech 3D milling machines are extremely aesthetic in their operation, as if choreographed, and the finished product is fascinating due to the filigree elements in its smooth movement. The motto ‘Movement is everything’ was developed by Elastique. and became the guiding principle for all conceptual and design ideas.
